How To Create a Backup of a Project

A project may be save to a compressed zip file format for the purpose of backup, transfer to another computer, archiving etc.

It is recommended that an active project be backed up on regular intervals so that loss of data due to a hardware failure may be minimized. The backup file should be stored on a different physical drive from where the working copy is kept. All but the largest projects will fit on a 1.44 MB floppy disk in compressed format.

It may also be useful to archive and save the project after each revision is released.

To backup the currently open project:

  1. Use the Utilities | Backup Project... menu item.
The Save Backup dialog box will appear.
  2. Choose the location for the file to be saved.
  3. Enter the filename.
  4. Press the Save button to start the compression/save process.
